This is an amazing canvas print of marble statue of a Roman Discus-Thrower. It is a Roman copy, after a Greek bronze original from ca. 460 BC. Dating from the first quarter of the 17th century, this is believed to be one of the earliest casts taken directly from an antique sculpture, rather than being based on earlier printed sources such as engravings or drawings.
